Did the EU ban single-use plastics?
What will be the extent of the EU legislation surrounding single-use plastic?
⚠️Single-use plastics will be banned in Europe by 2021.
Plastic straws and beverage containers will be banned in Europe by 2021. Plastic plates, straws, and cutlery will be a thing of the past on future trips to the 27 countries in the European Union, as well as the United Kingdom.
⚠️Single-use plastic items such as straws, forks, knives, and cotton buds will be banned in the European Union by 2021 following a vote by members of the European Parliament as the bloc pushes manufacturers to step up their recycling efforts.
Airlines have the challenge of sourcing sustainable alternatives to plastics that are also light, since adding weight would require higher fuel consumption.
Airlines are removing single-use plastic straws, stir sticks, utensils and wrappers from their cabins, with some carriers holding zero waste and plastic-free flights.
GXFLIGHT's target is to come up with a solution for airlines - or at least most airlines - to remove single-use plastic in the next few years.
Our solution to the European ban on single-use plastics in 2021 has the following points.
1. Use Bio products to replace the single-use.
2. Replace plastic containers with Eco-friendly tableware made of sugarcane pulp.
3. Use a reusable tableware set instead of disposable plastic.
4. Use paper tableware set to replace the single-use.
GXFLIGHT has developed side dish tray, salad bowl, cup and cutlery to match the heatable casserole, a full set of Eco-friendly tableware suits well in the airline.
